Privacy and community rules

Your account, your lists, your reviews

Nuren Heritage Trails is an independent heritage project based in Singapore. This page explains what we keep when you sign in, why, and the rules for reviews. Last updated 4 November 2026.

What we collect

Your account: your name as you want it shown, your email address, and how you signed in (Google or email). Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see them.

Your lists: the heritage places you save, places you add yourself, whether you have visited them, and your notes. Only you can see your lists.

Your reviews: your rating, text, the month you visited, and the name you chose. Reviews are public and show that name.

Why we use it

To let you sign in, keep your lists across devices, show your reviews to other visitors, and keep the community safe from spam and abuse. We do not sell your data, send marketing without asking, or use it for advertising.

Where it is kept

Your data is stored with Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which may hold it on servers outside Singapore. Google acts as our data processor.

How long we keep it

For as long as you keep your account. You can delete your account at any time from My Lists, which removes your account, saved places and reviews. Reports you sent about other reviews may be kept for up to 12 months for safety reasons.

Your rights

Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act you can ask to see or correct your data, or withdraw consent. Most of this you can do yourself in My Lists. For anything else, message us on WhatsApp at +65 8919 1030.

Community rules for reviews

Reviews go live straight away, so please:

Anyone can report a review. We may hide reviews that break these rules, and may close accounts that keep breaking them.
